Technology Working Group Charter

Purpose

The primary goal of the SPASE Technology Working Group is to identify and implement unique and useful technical solutions or techniques based on the needs of the steering committee and within the specifications of the data model group.

Scope

The working group is to do the following:

  1. Identify new technologies useful to the SPASE community
  2. Defining requirements for potential solutions
  3. Implement prototype versions of potentially useful solutions for evaluation by SPASE members.

Resources

Individuals in the group will contribute to the activities to the extent committed by their respective principal investigators or responsible managers.

Sunset Clause

The Technology Working Group will continue to exist at the discretion of the Overview Working Group.

Communication and Reporting

A summary of the Technology Working Group meetings will be generated for each meeting. This will be submitted to the overall SPASE team for review before the next meeting of the Technology Working Group. Comments on the activities will be discussed at the general SPASE teleconferences or meetings. Communication between members of the Technology Working Group may be through teleconference, e-mail or face-to-face.

Meeting Schedule

The Technology Working Group will meet as needed usually in conjunction with the regular SPASE Teleconference, but occasionally in a seperate meeting by teleconference or face-to-face as progress of the work requires.
